The department of Archaeology, Government of andhra Pradesh, located remains of a stupa in a mound near Dachepally on the bank of Naguleru. In addition, a Prakrit inscription, written in Brahmi characters and containing th name of the founder of th Ikshvaku dynasty, was also found. ON palaeographic grounds the inscription may be dated to circa A.D. 300. |
