Topographical Description / स्थलाकृतिक विवरण In proximity to the busy area of the Bus Stand, Pampore and the passing by National highway, this temple is situated by a pond hidden among the overgrown vegetation.
History / इतिहास
Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास The temple was constructed by Maharaja Pratap Singh some 100 years back and was dedicated to Lord Shiva. According to local sources, the temple doesn t possess an idol and is sealed for any access.

निर्मित धरोहर / स्थल से सम्बंधित स्थानीय/ परम्परागत विवरण		 The town of Pampore has remained a major centre of trade, culture and politics. Also known as ‘land of red gold’ for its open down clayey karewa soil, home to saffron cultivation for centuries. Saffron cultivation was and still is the prime occupation of the town. The town has given two great Kashmiri poetesses to the valley namely Lala Ded and Habba Khatoon and many other spiritual personalities and hermits. Pampore’s location at Srinagar’s doorstep made it witness various political events. This explains the sociological diversity of the town and the probable locale for the first Gandhian organization in the valley of ’Khadi Ashram’.

इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण 		The building comprises a small single storey chamber serving as the garbha griha, surrounded a compound with an entrance from the west alley. The central chamber is covered with a pyramidal shikhara covered with gilded sheets.

प्रयोग में लाई गई इमारती / संरचनागत सामग्री और अन्य घटक		 The principal materials used in the construction of the building are stone, maharaji seer traditional brick and wood with mud mortar . The structural system of the building comprises load bearing maharaji seer brick walls which have been plastered with mud. The pyramidal shikara has been made of timber bracing filled with maharaji seer masonry, further it has been covered with gilded metal sheets. The doors openings are topped by masonary arches and have wooden doors.
