A Number of rock shelters were also discovered n the area and many of them preserve early rock paintings on the walls and ceilings. such rock-shelters were discovered at Dengaon Churel Chhaj the paintings are in red ochre and black colours. On the basis of style they seem to range form the Mesolithic to the historical periods and consists of human and animal figures, chariot bullock cart, doncing and ceremonila scenes. |
