इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण |
There are many temples dedicated to Vasukinag, of which the one located at Gatha is considered most important. The temple is square in plan and rests on a high plinth. The square inner sanctum of temple is built in stone masonry. The height of the superstructure being 15 feet, it accommodates an idol of Shesh Nag covered with coiled serpents in black. The outer compartment of the temple has an open portico all around. The roof is pyramidal in shape and very high with steel a kalash surmounting it. The original temple built in deodar wood was partially destroyed in fire some years ago and a new temple was built on the same site through public participation. |
