Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास	The property was built by the present owners forefathers. And it essentially served as an inn or a community house where families particularly coming from distant places were put up temporarily on occasions of marriages. It is said that the accommodation in this building was free.

Description of Building/ Structure/Site इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण	The enormous property is located on the main Ganpat Market road. Facing the road, the building is accessed by means of a large and highly carved and decorated wooden gateway set within the building wall. The gateway leads to the private forecourt around which a number of rooms are arranged in a linear series. The size of each room is fairly large but the largest room is in the form of a large hall on the first floor. This room supposedly was used for wedding gathering and the rest of the rooms for resting etc. While the main face of the building is largely plain, the most interesting feature, in the form of a unique dub or bay window emerges on the attic floor. The dubs are located at two ends of the building and have a floral wooden base.

Almost the entire ground floor seems to have been reconstructed for better shop-fronts. The first floor, however, has retained most of its original character and is constructed in dhajji-dewari where the timber framing is done using a rectangular frame making it appear aesthetically more sophisticated. Each window is set in between two timber studs. The widows, extending from the floor to the lintel level, comprise square frames with arched profile for the openings. The ceiling joists and floor boards are constructed in timber. Internally, the walls are plastered in mud zavil-bore . Wedge-shaped bricks fill-in in the timber framework.
