The two storey building is accessed by means of a traditional dalan or porch entrance bearing two short columns resting on high bases at each side of the very marked entrance door. The entrance leads to a large hall which serves as the lobby area. Beyond the hall are the living quarters with an adjoining narrow staircase. The second floor is the same as the ground floor, with a large, open and screened verandah over the entrance. The central portion of the building is thus framed with the help of this double storey portico. The ground floor also comprises rooms for accommodating the owner s domestic animals. |

The building is mainly constructed in brick which is plastered with mud both externally as well as internally. Timber is used for construction of floor joists, ceiling and window door frames. There are very few windows on the front face of the building in the ground floor but the first floor has semi-circular windows all of which have wooden paneled shutters. The building presently rests on a low plinth due to the gradually rising level of the road. |
