Topographical Description / स्थलाकृतिक विवरण The shrine is located within the tightly built neighbourhood. The shrine itself is built within an open courtyard which has a number of trees.
History / इतिहास
Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास Sayyed Hussain Simnani is one of the prominent saints of Kashmir who arrived in the valley in 775AH 1373AD during the reign of Sultan Shahab-ud-din. The Sayyed is said to have migrated from his native town of Simnan, Iran and settled down in the environs of Delhi before arriving in Kashmir on the advice of his cousin, Mir Sayyed Ali Hamdani and brother Sayeed Taj-ud-din. On arriving in Kashmir, Sayyed Hussain settled down in the village of Kulgam in South Kashmir and spent the rest of his life for propagation of Islam. Many stories are related about the miracles performed by Sayyed Hussain, who passed away in 792AH 1389AD, on 11th of Shaban Muslim lunar month . This building is one of the shrines dedicated to the Saint in Kashmir.

इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण 		The building is square in plan and is square in shape. The main chamber has a wooden arcaded circumambulatory verandah which improves the architectural quality of the building. The single storey structure is surmounted by a pyramidal roof.

प्रयोग में लाई गई इमारती / संरचनागत सामग्री और अन्य घटक		 Most of the structure is constructed in wood and brick masonry. It stands on a stone ashlar plinth with a wooden arcaded verandah surrounding the main chamber which is built of brick masonry. A series of decorative wooden brackets are located at the eaves level. The roof of the shrine consist of a three tiered pyramidal roof surmounted by an octagonal pavilion brangh with a spire at top.
