| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | The spring, Malaknag is one of the numerous such features located in the district of Anantnag. These springs are held in great reverence by Hindu as well as Muslims. A mosque, Masjid-i-Gousai has been constructed on the spring of Malaknag which was destroyed during a fire in the 1990s and was rebuilt in 1991. |

The spring comprises of a linear tank located in what now forms the basement of the two storied mosque, Masjid-i-Gousia. The spring is surrounded by aseries of small cubicles on its southern side which serve as bathrooms for worshippers. |
