| History / इतिहास | |
| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | The small shrine contains the grave of a Muslim saint, Noor shah saheb. Barring for the fact that the saint was renowned for his piety, nothing could be ascertained about his life or period. Apparently a small nondescript structure existed on the site which was rebuilt in the 1980 s. |

Shrines and khanqahs associated with Sufis, saints, preachers are an important part of the social life of the Muslim community of Kashmir. Numerous shrines dot the physical landscape of the valley, with many residential areas (mohallas) containing one. A number of shrines and khanqahs are located in Anantnag town including the Shrine of Noor saheb is one such shrine looked upon with deep reverence by the local community. The socio-cultural significance of such structure far outweighs their architectural importance. |
