The house is located in the Reshi bazzar which comprises of a series of three to four adjoining houses with mixed residential and commercial usage. Many of the houses have shops on the ground floor, which continue to be used for commercial purpose. Over a period of time many of the residents have shifted from the area due to ongoing rapid commercialization. The area is one of the busy commercial spines of old Anantnag town. |

The Reshi house is located on the main Sher Bagh Mohalla road and is a commercial-residential mix use property. It has a narrow alley on one side and is attached with other properties on the other. The significantly linear building has two separate properties. The ground floor of the four storey building has seven shops and the upper three floors have private residence. The building has a plain face on the front with series of wooden paneled windows being the only prominent feature. |

The principal materials used in the construction of the building are stone, brick and wood, with mud mortar. The window openings are square set within segmental arched masonry profiles. The structural system of the building comprises load bearing brick walls with wooden floor joists. Floor lines are emphasized by exposed wooden runners and joists. Internally the floors are covered with sathrun mud flooring in most of the rooms. The building is covered with a traditional pitched roof comprising CGI sheets. |
