The house is located adjacent to the larger Shah house and belongs to the same family. The building exists in a considerably modified state, with its ground floor having been fully rebuilt. The building has a rectangular layout which consists of three floors with a centrally located entrance lobby, which has a wooden staircase at the far end. There is one room on each side of the lobby. | Building/Structure material and other material used प्रयोग में लाई गई इमारती / संरचनागत सामग्री और अन्य घटक |
The main materials used in the construction of the building are stone replaced by brick , brick and timber. The ground floor seems to have been rebuilt recently using brick masonry as opposed to the originally existing stone masonry. The structural system of the building consists of load bearing masonry walls laid in mud mortar. Each fa ade has a series of segmental arched windows. All the windows start at floor level comprising carved wooden sills and glazed and paneled window panels. The rooms are replete with khatamband ceilings and fine decorative incised mud plaster. Each floor level is emphasized by a decorative brick frieze band running the entire length. Internally the floors are covered with sathrun mud flooring in most of the rooms. The building is covered with a traditional pitched roof comprising CGI sheets with ornamental finials at each roof edge. Other decorative elements include roof pendants and carved eaves boards. |
