The house is located on the Hazratbal road which comprises of a series of three to four adjoining houses with mixed residential and commercial usage. Many of the houses have shops on the ground floor, which continue to be used for commercial purpose. |

The property is located on the main road of the Mohalla Shah locality and shares one of its sidewalls with other properties on the road. The building can be considered for the exceptional decorative quality of its front fa ade. The ground floor comprises two shops, the first floor consists of rooms and the second floor has a large hall. The building face is plastered in lime which has decorative incisions in the form of rectangular panels. The building is also emphasized by series of pinjrakari windows on all floors. |

The principal materials used in the construction of the building are brick sun dried and wood, with mud mortar. The structural system of the building comprises load bearing brick walls with wooden floor joists. The building facade comprises rectangular window frames within rectangular masonry openings. The building is adorned with incised lime plaster on the outside only on the front which has been given a coat of lime wash. Almost all the windows have highly ornamental pijrakari panels. The ceiling of the rooms comprises exposed wooden joist and planks. Internally the walls are mud plastered and the floors are covered with sathrun mud flooring in most of the rooms. The building is covered with a traditional pitched roof comprising CGI sheets. |
