The house is located on the Hazratbal road which comprises of a series of three to four adjoining houses with mixed residential and commercial usage. Many of the houses have shops on the ground floor, which continue to be used for commercial purpose. |

The extensive house is located on the main road and consists of three floors. The ground floor which is also its public-commercial front has a series of shops with rooms, used as storage, at the back. Only one of the shops has partially retained its original character while others have mostly changed. The central portion of house has coloured windows which seems to equally divide it in three parts. The layout is rectangular with the longer side facing the road and serving as the prime elevation. The building is sandwiched between other properties and therefore shares its side walls with other properties. The fa ade is dominated with large rectangular windows of the same size. |

The principal materials used in the construction of the building are brick sun dried and wood, with mud mortar. The structural system of the building comprises load bearing brick walls with wooden floor joists. The building facade comprises rectangular window frames within rectangular masonry openings. The building is mud-plastered on the outside which is then white washed. Almost all the windows have highly ornamental pijrakari panels. The most striking element on the main fa ade of the building is a series of highly ornamental wooden brackets. The ceiling of the rooms comprises exposed wooden joist and planks. Floor lines are emphasized by carved wooden fascias which cover the wooden runners and floor joists. Internally the walls are mud plastered and the floors are covered with sathrun mud flooring in most of the rooms. The building is covered with a traditional pitched roof comprising CGI sheets. The building is said to be partially abandoned. |
