The house is located on the old Sarnal road which comprises of a series of three to four adjoining houses with mixed residential and commercial usage. Many of the houses have shops on the ground floor, which continue to be used for commercial purpose. |

The rectangular building consists of three floors with a centrally located entrance lobby, bearing a staircase at the end, on the ground floor. The lobby gives access to one room on its either side. The first floor has the same layout but the second floor has a large hall occupying the entire floor area. The main face longer of the house is next to the road and therefore has smaller windows for privacy. The rear face of the building consists of a continuous wooden gallery or dub on the second floor which has an arcaded front. The gallery projects at least 3ft from the building line. |

The principal materials used in the construction of the building are stone, brick and wood, with mud mortar. The structural system of the building comprises load bearing brick walls with wooden floor joists. The four wall corners in the ground floor have stone masonry piers which are then filled with brick masonry walls. The side walls are constructed in dhajji dewari. The window openings on the first and second floor of the front fa ade are rectangular set in segmental arched profiles the gap between the frame and the arch having been filled in with bricks. The rest of the windows in the building are rectangular in shape. The ceiling of the rooms comprises exposed wooden joists and planks. Internally the walls are mud plastered and the floors are covered with sathrun mud flooring in most of the rooms barring the lobby on the ground floor which has cement flooring. The building is covered with a traditional pitched roof comprising CGI sheets. |
