The area was commercially active and is amongst the oldest quarters of fast developing Anantnag. The more pronounced architectural style available in this area is vernacular with little or no influence of colonial architecture. The Reshi Bazaar Mohalla is located immediately behind Sher Bagh Mohalla. |

The building consists of two floors with the entrance at the rear and a single bakery shop facing the road. The first floor comprises a single large room. The building is rectangular in plan with the shorter side facing the roadside. The most dominant feature of the building is its smoke-blackened fa ade which imparts a rich character and a certain measure of patina and age to it. |

The main building materials employed for the construction of the building are brick, timber and mud. The load-bearing brick walls are laid in mud mortar and left exposed on the outside. However, the walls on the inside have been mud-plastered. The flooring on all the floors is of sathrun traditional mud flooring . Each floor is supported on wooden tie beams and joists. The window openings are square on the first floor and are inserted by latticework pinjrakari panels. |
