Topographical Description / स्थलाकृतिक विवरण	The property is located on the main road of Sher Bagh locality which has, in its vicinity, the Sher Bagh Garden built around a historic spring having abundant fish and held sacred by the local community. The Garden contributes to the lung of the tightly built environment of Sher Bagh and Kadipora locality.

Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास	The family business has been of the sale of tobacco. The house was built by the present owner s father in the early part of the 20th century.
Local / Traditional description associated with Built Heritage / Site निर्मित धरोहर / स्थल से सम्बंधित स्थानीय/ परम्परागत विवरण	The street stretch has numerous historic commercial-residential mix use properties going as far back as the mid or late 19th century. The area was commercially active and is amongst the oldest quarters of fast developing Anantnag. The more pronounced architectural style available in this area is vernacular with little or no influence of colonial architecture. The Reshi Bazaar Mohalla is located immediately behind Sher Bagh Mohalla. The area is also significant for the presence of Reshi Sahib mausoleum.

Description of Building/ Structure/Site इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण	The three-storey building is fairly small in size compared to many of its neighbours. The ground floor has a shop and the first floor has two rooms and a hall on the second floor. The entrance is from the rear of the building. A continuous wooden balcony projects from the length of the second floor. The building is surmounted by a double-pitched roof which is supported on a timber truss.

Building/Structure material and other material used प्रयोग में लाई गई इमारती / संरचनागत सामग्री और अन्य घटक	The main building materials employed for the construction of the building are brick, timber and mud. The load-bearing brick walls are laid in mud mortar and left exposed on the outside. However, the walls on the inside have been mud-plastered. The flooring on all the floors is of sathrun traditional mud flooring . Each floor is supported on wooden tie beams and joists. The first floor is adorned with moulded brickwork which is seen in the form of pilasters and window surrounds. The eaves board is also slightly decorative in quality.
