Topographical Description / स्थलाकृतिक विवरण	The property is located on one of the interior alleys of Sher Bagh, which itself is a plain site. The area is called Reshi Mohalla. Sher Bagh is essentially significant for the presence of Sher Bagh Garden, built around a natural spring replete with fish and abundant Chinar trees.

Local / Traditional description associated with Built Heritage / Site निर्मित धरोहर / स्थल से सम्बंधित स्थानीय/ परम्परागत विवरण	The street stretch has numerous historic commercial-residential mix use properties going as far back as the mid or late 19th century. The area was commercially active and is amongst the oldest quarters of fast developing Anantnag. The more pronounced architectural style available in this area is vernacular with little or no influence of colonial architecture. The Reshi Bazaar Mohalla is located immediately behind Sher Bagh Mohalla.

Description of Building/ Structure/Site इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण	The building is not very big in size and is particularly noticeable for its external ornamentation. It comprises three floors, of which the ground floor has a shop facing the road and an additional room and the first and second floor consist of two rooms. The second floor has a wooden jettied front which is adorned with high quality latticework screens and decorative panels, bordering it. The staircase to access the upper floors is at the rear of the building.

Building/Structure material and other material used प्रयोग में लाई गई इमारती / संरचनागत सामग्री और अन्य घटक	The principal building material used for the construction of this house is brick and timber. The treatment given to the house varies on each floor. While the original character of the shop has eroded over time, the two upper floors still retain it. The first floor is adorned with moulded brickwork which is seen in the form of pilasters and window surrounds and the second floor has exceptionally intricate pinjrakari applied to windows and sills. The windows on the first floor are pointed arched with thick brick-moulded surrounds. These windows have intricately carved wooden frames. The walls are tied with the help of wooden tie beams and floor joists.
