Topographical Description / स्थलाकृतिक विवरण	The property is located in the busy commercial centre of Sher Bagh, which itself is a plain site. The area is significant for the presence of Sher Bagh Garden, built around a natural spring replete with fish and abundant Chinar trees.

The area was commercially active and is amongst the oldest quarters of fast developing Anantnag. The more pronounced architectural style available in this area is vernacular with little or no influence of colonial architecture. The traditional building materials like timber, brick and stone contribute to the overall texture of this neighbourhood. The tightly-built nature of the buildings imparts a wall-like profile to the Sher Bagh road.

Description of Building/ Structure/Site इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण	The property is sandwiched between series of other traditional houses. Oriented in the east-west direction, the building has three floors, with the ground floor being occupied by two large shops and the upper two floors consisting of residential portion. The building has a plain face on the front with only the pinjrakari windows and muted-coloured lime plaster on the outside enhancing the fa ade. The entrance is from the rear of the building, with the first and the second floor comprising two rooms

Building/Structure material and other material used प्रयोग में लाई गई इमारती / संरचनागत सामग्री और अन्य घटक	The principal materials used in the construction of the building are brick and timber. The building is load bearing and is constructed in brick masonry which is plastered on the outside with lime and colour-washed in a rich tone of yellow. Although all the windows are square in shape, from floor to lintel level, there are incisions in the plasterwork in the shape of pointed arches. The windows on the first floor are five in number and have intricate pinjrakari insertions. The windows on the second floor are fully paneled with the top part having a glazed panel. The use of timber is also seen in the construction of floor joists and boards.
