The Mohalla (or locality) was traditionally commercially active with most houses carrying out their businesses from the shops in the ground floor, while living on the upper residential quarters of the building. Therefore, this street stretch mostly consists of residential-commercial mixed use properties. The tall buildings, each abutting the other creates a wall-like profile for the Kadipora street. The street is also popular for the presence of a two springs (Nag) here; one of them known as Gaj Nag. |

The property has three floors, with the ground floor consisting of a shop which faces the street. The first and the floor serve as the residential part of the building. The access to the upper floors is from the rear of the building. The first floor consists of a large room with vertical wooden partition which is traditionally used to divide the room in two. The second floor consists of a spacious hall with two wooden dubs akin to jharokas or balconies on the front fa ade. These are supported on brackets and have their own roofs which merge into the main roof of the building. The roof over the building is double-pitched, covered with CGI sheets. |

The materials of construction used in the building are exposed bricks and timber. Timber is largely used for the construction of floor joists and boarding and for the construction of wooden window shutters and doors. There are five segmental-arched windows on the front fa ade of the window on first as well as the second floor of the building. The dubs or jharokas on the second floor are entirely of wood with windows insertions. The walls on the inside are plastered in mud and the flooring is of wood on all the floors. |
