| Local / Traditional description associated with Built Heritage / Site निर्मित धरोहर / स्थल से सम्बंधित स्थानीय/ परम्परागत विवरण |
The Mohalla (or locality) was traditionally commercially active with most houses carrying out their businesses from the shops in the ground floor, while living on the upper residential quarters of the building. Therefore, this street stretch mostly consists of residential-commercial mixed use properties. The tall buildings, each abutting the other creates a wall-like profile for the Kadipora street. The street is also popular for the presence of two springs (Nag) here; one of them known as Gaj Nag. |

| Description of Building/ Structure/Site
इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण |
The building has three floors and an additional attic floor. The entrance is through a centrally located entrance door which leads to a narrow corridor having a narrow wooden staircase at the end. There are two rooms on either side of the corridor. The plan of the ground, first and second floor is the same. However, the attic floor comprises a large hall which is used for social and family gatherings. The building is surmounted by a double-pitched roof with a central ridge and a large gable in the front. From the second floor projects an interesting and decorative dub which is made of wood. |

The main materials of construction used in the building are brick and timber. The building is essentially a load bearing construction which is supported on a low plinth. The use of timber is seen in the construction of wooden floor joists and floor beams. There is also a shallow basement which seems to be affected by rising dampness. The ornamental features of the building include the latticework on the projecting wooden balcony. The walls are plastered in lime on the outside and mud on the inside. The windows are all square in shape partly glazed and partly paneled. On the first floor, the plaster around the windows is incised to give an impression of pointed arches. The tone of plaster is a rich yellow which imparts an interesting overall texture to the house. |
