Local / Traditional description associated with Built Heritage / Site निर्मित धरोहर / स्थल से सम्बंधित स्थानीय/ परम्परागत विवरण	The Mohalla (or locality) was traditionally commercially active with most houses carrying out their businesses from the shops in the ground floor, while living on the upper residential quarters of the building. Therefore, this street stretch mostly consists of residential-commercial mixed use properties. The street is also popular for the presence of two springs (Nag) here; one of them known as Gaj Nag. The area is also important for the presence of a shrine of Hazrat Syed Simnani Sahib.

Description of Building/ Structure/Site इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण	This is an exceptional historic property for its external decorative features. The building has three floors with the access being from a narrow alley which leads to a private court. The main entrance to the house is located in the centre. This leads to a corridor with two rooms on its each side. The first floor has the same plan and therefore the same number of rooms. The second floor however has a large hall which covers the entire floor space. From the centre of the second floor, projects a wooden dub or jharokha which is supported on wooden brackets. An interesting feature of the building is the bridge that connects this property to the neighbouring one across the alley. Unlike other houses which are largely attached with each other, and have only the front face exposed, this property has all its four sides open as it is a detached one.

Building/Structure material and other material used प्रयोग में लाई गई इमारती / संरचनागत सामग्री और अन्य घटक	The main materials of construction used in the building are exposed brick, stone and timber. While the ground floor is constructed in stone masonry, the upper floors are built in exposed brick masonry. The external fa ade especially the front is exceptionally decorative in quality manifest in the form of ornate pinjrakari latticework fenestrations, highly carved wooden frieze bands covering the wooden floor joists and the intricate pinjrakari used in the projecting dub. The walls are all plastered in mud on the inside.
