| Local / Traditional description associated with Built Heritage / Site निर्मित धरोहर / स्थल से सम्बंधित स्थानीय/ परम्परागत विवरण |
The Mohalla (or locality) was traditionally commercially active with most houses carrying out their businesses from the shops in the ground floor, while living on the upper residential quarters of the building. Therefore, this street stretch mostly consists of residential-commercial mixed use properties. The tall buildings, each abutting the other creates a wall-like profile for the Kadipora street. The street is also popular for the presence of two springs (Nag) here; one of them known as Gaj Nag. |

| Description of Building/ Structure/Site
इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण |
These are two sprawling properties belonging to two brothers which share a common wall. Although they are almost identical to each other and form a continuous face with the same number of floors and the same choice and treatment of building material, they can be identified from each other in terms of the fenestration details. The two properties are three storeys high and are aligned in north-west direction with a very pronounced linear plan form. Each property is accessed by means of a centrally located corridor which has a wooden staircase at the far end which leads to the upper floor. The spatial layout on the ground and first floor remains the same, with two rooms on each side of the corridor. The second floor of both the buildings, however, has a spacious hall which covers the entire floor space. |

The main materials of construction used in the building are exposed bricks and timber. There are various decorative features applied to the external surface. The front face of the building is especially decorated with a series of large pinjrakari latticework windows 11 on each floor. While the windows of the first floor in one property are pointed-arched, the ones on the other are segmental-arched. All the windows on the second floor, however, are square in shape set within brick masonry profiles. Both the properties have exceptionally embellished interiors and have features like naqashi paintings on the walls. The flooring in the ground floor is in PCC while on the upper floors is wooden. The buildings are surmounted by double-pitched roof which is covered with CGI sheets. |
