Conducted trial digging at Budigepally, where a number of rock-shelters, megalithic burials, rock-paintings and fort belonging to the medieval period had been noticed. The excavation revealed three periods of occupation, viz., neolithic, megalithic and medieval. The neolithic period is represented by handmade burnished grey and dull red wares, microliths, such as blades, crescents and neolithic celts, whereas the megalithic period is represented by the Black-and-red Ware and associated wares. The medieval period is represented by glazed pottery and associated wares. |
