Engraved on a slab lying on the bund of the village tank and written in kannada language and characters, the record states that when the Chalukya king Irivabedemgadeva was staying in his transit camp Ravulakonda, mahasamanta Gangayyarasa made the grant of the village Kolur to the deity Ramesvara of Chelvarala-tirtha on the day of Tula-samkranti. The gift is stated to have been entrusted to Gangesvarada-Brahmalimgibhatara of Pottalakere, after laving his feet. |
