This famous temple is four chambered. The vimana is pancharatha rekha type, the jagamohana and bhogamandapa are pidha type, the natamandira is flat roofed. The temple is raised on a high plinth is about 65 feet in height. A boundary wall encloses the temple complex. Cult images and secular sculptures adorn the outer wall of the temple. the doorrjambs of the vimana and bhogamandapa have images of navagraha and Lakshmi in padmasana. The presiding deities are wooden images of Jagannatha Balabhadra Subhadra. The side deities are later chlorite images of Trivikrama, Varaha and Narasimha. |
