This is one of the little-known but beautiful Maratha chattrams of Thiruvaiyaru. The structure is fully plastered. The main entrance is approached by a flight of granite steps. There are four arched openings on either side of the main entrance, separated by pillars along the edge of the tinnai, which possesses the Madras-terrace roof. A huge Maratha style painting of Lord Vinayaka adorns the wall of the small room behind the tinnai. The large Koodam has two rows of cylindrical pillars between arches. Arched masonry structures can be noticed above the doors and windows. |
