The burial site lies one east of this village. Two types of burial found at this place. One is the cairn circle and the other is the stone circle. The cairn circles yielded cist burials whereas the stone circles yield urn burials. The average diameter of the circle is 8 m. The cist noticed at the centre of the circle is placed in east-west direction. It is constructed of four orthostats and is covered by a comparatively thin orthostat. A circlur porthole is found on the eastern orthostat. The cist burial yields black and red ware, black slipped ware, brown slipped ware and red ware. The urn in the stone circle is kept in a pit dug into the soil. The urn is in an almost vertical position with its mouth slightly tilted towards north, The urn is made of coarse ware and ill-fired. It has wide mouth, globular body and truncated stem base. Around the urn, bowls, dishes, miniature rings, etc. made of black and red ware, black slipped ware and red ware are kept at the bottom. |
