Two types of the burial sites are found on the south and southwestern side of the village. The first one containing stone circle entombing simple cist or transepted cist. Both the burials cover an area of more than 15 acres. The second one is urn buriral site found on the southwestern side of the village and are partly destroyed due to the cultivation. The urn burials numbering more than 50 covering an area of more than 20 acres urn are found without cicles. These were place vertically in a pit. These urns were made of coarse red ware, had a 30-42 cm wide mouth, and rolled rim. The disturbed burial yielded bowls, plates and dishes made up black and red ware. The simple cist are totally destroyed due to cultivation. One transepted cist is found in partly disturbed condition, having a diameter of 5 m. Capstone measures 1.59X .15X0.53m. Orthostat measures 1.00X 0.59X0.22m. The stone circle and orthostats are built of quartz stones. Some of the circles are built of granite stones. The important feature of this site is that urn burials are found without capstones. |
