| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | The ancient name of Kanwala was Kampapur and Kohala in Mediaeval period. This village was developed during Parmara period and it was Pargana head quarter in Mughal period. During 17th century A.D, this area was ruled by Chandrawat Samvant. |

1. Most of temple remains are protected by the State Archaeology. 2. At the south-west direction of the village, there are monolithic rocks scattered as painted rock shelters. There are 4 rock shelters with paintings but they are not in good condition because some portion of the area was under the Gandhi sagar dam. For the construction of temple, only local sand stone was used. |
