On the basis of the remains found, the history belongs to mesolithic period. The site was first visited by Dr. Wakankar during exploration in Chambal valley.

1. Painted rock shelters - Most of the rock shelters are painted with red colour depicting animal figures, hunting scene, human figures and animal figures. These belong to mesolithic period. One painting of pregnant cow is very important than others. 2. Inscriptions - A few rock shelters are having painted Brahmi inscriptions in red colour in Sunga character. This suggest them to be the residence of Buddhist monks. 3. Around the rock shelters quite a number of microliths are scattered. For preparation of microliths only semiprecious stones were used. According to the local people, one rock shelter was used only log thieves for worshipping there goddess. Choron- ki- Devi and the too stories their matrial.
