A few rock shelter are painted with red white pigments. These belong to Mesolithic and Chalcolithic period. Apart from that, there is red painted inscription of shell script. Important rock paintings- 1- Dancing figure. 2. Archer with mask and holding harpoon type arrow. 3. Animal figure like monkey, bull, Neelgay hunting scene. 4. Group of animal figure, wild boar, deer etc. According to the local people, these paintings seem to have been drawn by female ghosts. There are natural rock shelters and red white colours have been used. |
