| Local / Traditional description associated with Built Heritage / Site निर्मित धरोहर / स्थल से सम्बंधित स्थानीय/ परम्परागत विवरण |
The area was one of the most affected ones during the Indian partition of 1947 and was badly destroyed in the earthquake of 2005. These events have therefore made a permanent and prominent impression on the people and also the urban fabric of the area and add, in unique ways, to the cultural essence of the place. The temple complex being one of the oldest is the most revered by the local community. |

| Description of Building/ Structure/Site
इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण |
Most of the building has succumbed to the 2005 earthquake. What remain are the robust external walls. Being in an abandoned state, the interiors of the house are totally covered by piles of debris which has not been cleared since the earthquake for legal reasons. The building is two storey high and was laid out around a square open courtyard. The access to the house is from a dominating brick gateway with an arched profile and shallow niches surrounding it. The building corners have been strengthened by slender brick battlements. The house at one time would have been one of the largest and most ostentatious ones in the area. |
