| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | This building was constructed by Saif-u-Din Daral in the mid 20th century. Saif-u-Din was a textile merchant. Later the building was bought by Ghulam Hassan Bhat and Nazir Ahmad Bhat, who are government employees in power department. |

Like the historic town of Srinagar, Baramulla is yet another significant town located on the banks of River Jhelum. The principal occupation of the people for many generations has been that of fruit business and therefore the area around the town is seen dotted with many sprawling apple orchards. A number of significant religious places for both Hindus and Muslims are seen in and around the town. |

The most elaborate property in the whole of Baramulla s old town, this building boasts of three floors and a large wooden pent-roof. The building is based on 9 taqs which gives it a substantially wide frontage. The building comprises four floors. The ground floor has five rooms, the first floor again has five rooms, the second floor has four rooms and the third floor pent roof has three rooms each. The building has a huge fa ade with arched windows on all the three floors and dub in the third floor. The main face of the building which is also its public front as it faces the road is adorned with decorative features such as naqashi and moulded brickwork. |

The building is adorned with moulded brick surrounds and pilaster bands around the window openings. There is decorative naqashi on the external walls done in lime and natural vegetative colours. The materials used in the construction of this structure are stone, sun-dried bricks, deodar wood, devri stone and mud plaster. The windows in the third floor display some pinjrakari work. The fa ade has arched glazed and panelled windows. The eaves-board of the building is also beautifully carved in wood. |
