Like the historic town of Srinagar, Baramulla is yet another significant town located on the banks of River Jhelum. The principal occupation of the people for many generations has been that of fruit business and therefore the area around the town is seen dotted with many sprawling apple orchards. A number of significant religious places for both Hindus and Muslims are seen in and around the town. |

This building has three floors. The building originally had three shops in the ground floor and the entrance to the ground floor was from one of the shops to the extreme right. However, the ground floor now has only one shop in the centre. The staircase leading to the upper floors is located on the rear side of the building. The ground floor has four rooms including the shops . The first floor and the second floors have two rooms and a hall each. |

The materials used in the construction of this building are stone, maharaji bricks, burnt bricks, wooden door and window frames. The shutters of the shops in the ground floor are in wood. The first floor of the building is made of maharaji bricks with two arched and three rectangular windows. The second floor of the building is built in burnt brick masonry and seems to be a later addition. The second floor of the building displays dhajji dewari work. Mud mortar has been largely used in the masonry. Internally the walls are plastered in mud. The ceiling of the building is made of wooden beams. All the three floors of the building are covered with sethrun mud flooring . The roof of the building is double pitched and is covered with galvanized sheets. |
