| Brief History / संक्षिप्त इतिहास | The house originally belonged to Ghulam Qadir Wani who was a local businessman. The house was bought by Ali Mohammad Wani, the present owner of the house, some eight years back. The present owner is involved in garment business. |

Like the historic town of Srinagar, Baramulla is yet another significant town located on the banks of River Jhelum. The principal occupation of the people for many generations has been that of fruit business and therefore the area around the town is seen dotted with many sprawling apple orchards. A number of significant religious places for both Hindus and Muslims are seen in and around the town. |

This building comprises three floors. The ground floor is constructed in stone masonry, while as the first and the second floor are constructed in brick masonry. The ground floor of the building has two rooms arranged on either sides of the centrally located corridor. The corridor leads to the staircase which is built in wood. The first floor consists of two rooms placed in the same manner as in the ground floor. The second floor has a large hall. |

The principal materials used in the construction of this building include stone, bricks, timber for doors and window frames, panels. Cement is a recent material which has been used to plaster the outer wall surfaces. The fa ade of the building has rectangular window frames and a centrally placed dub on the second floor under which hang the wooden ornamental pendants. The building also has carved wooden eaves. |
