The settlement is located on the right bank of the River Jhelum and was accessed by means of a wooden bridge now by an additional concrete one . The area is generally plain in topography and has a tightly built form. |

The property belongs to one of the most influential families of Kashmir, members of which, and have served the local government in various capacities. |

Like the historic town of Srinagar, Baramulla is yet another significant town located on the banks of River Jhelum. The principal occupation of the people for many generations has been that of fruit business and therefore the area around the town is seen dotted with many, sprawling apple orchards. A number of significant religious places for both Hindus and Muslims are seen in and around the town. |

The entrance to the building is from the street which leads into a rectangular courtyard. The building consists of four floors, with three rooms on the ground floor and four rooms on the first and the second floor each, and a large hall in the third floor. The building also has a dub extending out centrally from the third floor. |

Stone, maharaji bricks, deodar wood, with mud mortar are the principal building materials used in the construction of this building. The building has rectangular deodar, double paneled windows in the ground, first and third floor, while as the second floor has pointed arched windows, which exhibit pinjrakari work. Some traces of old mud plaster are also visible in the ground floor. |
