The parish hall was added within the premises of St. James Church in 1940.The building was designed by Walter Sykes George.The building is made up of dressed stone masonry at plinth level and upper part is made up of brick masonry.It is constructed on a rectangular plan and is a single storey structure.The building is entered through an arcaded verandah which has three semi-circular arched openings.The arcaded entrance is flanked by small square rooms at either side. There is a large room at the rear end which has a very high ceiling.The simple yet impressive structure of the Parish Hall is one of the remarkable examples of Colonial era buildings |
