The beautiful tomb is rectangular in plan. The grave is surrounded by a low marble balustrade and generally kept covered. It stands on a marble platform measuring approx. 4.88 m by 2.47 m. and furnished with a balustrade similar to that round the grave. The white marble fluted columns support the marble roof. There is an inscription at the head of the tombstone and dated 1222 A.H. gives 1199 A.H. 1784-85 A.D, as the chronogram of the death of Maulana Fakhruddin. All parapet columns have been golden polished in foliated and petal design. The marble roof and columns are exuberantly carved and painted in multiple colours. The floor has also been cladded with marble. |
