The domed building is square in plan and stands on approx. 2.5 m raised platform. It is built of rubble masonry plastered with arched openings on its four sides. It is surmounted by a hemispherical dome over a raised octagonal drum, which is itself crowned with a lotus bud cresting. Squinches are seen in the solid interior walls of the building which provide the basic support to the octagonal drum and the dome. A line of kanguras battlement-like ornamentation runs along the parapet and upper edge of the octagonal drum. |
