It lies in area between the river Yamuna on the East and Delhi ridge on the West. Delhi ridge is a northern extension of ancient Aravalli Range.

An impressive mosque with a grand dalan which was probably used as an assembly hall. The building is said to have been erected by followers of Makhdum Samauddin, a saint who died during the reign of Sikandar Lodi in 1496 A.D.

The gigantic building is constructed on a rectangular plan and it is raised some 3 m above ground level. The building consisting of a central court surrounded by parapeted wall and a three-arched dalan on the north. The court measures approx.33.55 sq. m. The western wall containing a series of eleven mihrab recesses with the central one emphasizes by two minarets. The arched dalan of three bays was probably used as an assembly hall. It measures approx 15.25 m by 4.84 m. and has staircases at the east and west ends leading to the roof. At the western end of the dalan is a chamber measuring approx. 4.81 m by 4.30 m. with a staircase descending to the lower rooms at the ground level. The bands of miniature niche-shaped panels running under the chhajja, which is carried on molded stone lintels resting on carved stone brackets, and down the sides of the piers of the main central arch.

The building is originally constructed of random rubble masonry. Recent intervention by modern building material like cement plaster is observed.
