The massive three-storeyed building is of colonial style. It has high ceilings on each floor. The building has unique colonial style gateposts crowned with guldastas and glass work on the first-floor level. The gateposts are constructed with a thick layer of lime over them, the plaster being shaped in blocks and have moulding at the top level. The external walls over the plinth form a large expanse relieved by regular pilasters with equal rhythms. Sitting on a moulded base the pilasters are rectangular and surmounted by a capital. The pilasters are high, holding the entablature over which is the parapet.There are circular niches which are found in the exterior wall surfaces. The plain moulding that curves around the side openings is very prominent. The entrance door is of arched type. The doorway appears more formal and elegant with style of Corinthian pilasters on either side of the openings on the first floor. The arched doors have a fixed semicircular fanlight above the normal door. All the main doors are double shutter doors- a wooden panel shutters on the inside and a wire mesh shutter on the outside. It has been painted in a soft combination of off-white and yellow. |
