The remarkable mosque is built of red sandstone and measures approx. 10 m by 4.57 m. It is a two-storeyed mosque, the first or basement storey which forms the floor of the mosque, consisting of several compartments, now used as shops. The upper floor consists of a large courtyard and prayer chamber of three compartments, accessible from a flight of eleven steps. It is roofed by huge bulbous domes, central domes are larger than both two domes and have inverted lotus cresting with pinnacle. The series of miniature dome crowned the parapet over leaf pattern. It has three arched entrances, the central archway dominating the facade with minimal carvings. Interior of the mosque has three mihrabs, the central mihrab is painted in a combination of pink and green. There is an inscription over the central arch. A fiber sheet roof has now been put up, partially covering the courtyard. |
