The impressive three-storeyed building is built with many colonial features and accessible from a flight of fourteen steps. The original deep verandahs have been enclosed circular pilasters with decorative capitals mark the facade. There are two orders used in the elevation, Corinthian and Doric. The Doric order pilasters have simple circular capitals at the top, whereas Corinthian has decorated capitals. A rounded engaged column that breaks the monotony of the regular surface on block-shaped ornate rectangular pilasters at every level enriches the facade. The baseboard moulding at first story is decorated in a block shape, whereas the chair rail moulding and crown moulding are simple but prominent. The pilasters at window casing are in a block shape. |
