इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण
The beautiful mosque is built of red sandstone and measures approx. 8 m by 5 m. It is two-storeyed, with shops on the lower floor, consists of arched rooms. The upper floor consists of a large courtyard and prayer chamber of three compartments, accessible from a flight of fifteen steps and is roofed by disproportionately high domes crowned with inverted lotus cresting topped by gilded pinnacle and having three arched entrances. The arched entrance is decorated in patterns and artwork and is perhaps the most interesting feature of the mosque possesses the flowing curves and cusped arches that were a trademark of Mughal architecture. The mosque s bulbous domes and slender corner minarets enhance its beauty. The interiors of the mosque have been painted vibrantly, floral motifs and the multicoloured decoration with green, yellow and white - the green and yellow complement and contrast with white, each other to create an impressive fusion that is glaringly vibrant. The three steps green marble pulpit placed beside the central mihrab. The central archway dominating the facade bears an inscription, inscribed on a piece of white marble runs as follows Mubarak Begum built this mosque which is superior to the arched sky. Its dignity is not less than that of Jerusalem; call this a second Jerusalem, 1238.
