It lies in area between the flood plain of river Yamuna and Delhi Ridge. Delhi Ridge is a Northern extension of ancient Aravalli Range.

Motamad Khan was a noble in the court of Aurangzeb and he is buried in this fine enclosure. This beautiful enclosure with a mosque within the Dargah complex was probably built in the memory of Motamad Khan.

The simplistic mosque has five chambers and is entered through a well decorated arched entrance. The western Qibla wall has five mihrab recesses. The central mihrab is deep and emphasized by raising of the wall. Over the gateway and the north and south walls, there are decorative kangura battlement design made in incised plaster work. The mosque is roofed by flat sandstone slabs and the supporting columns are 12-sided. The central mihrab is in white marble. The exterior of the mosque has lime washed. The marble cladded plaster grave of Motamad Khan lies in the center of the inner courtyard which is damaged. There is also a temporary erection of asbestos roof on rectangular rafter and pillars which partially covers the courtyard.
