Description of Building/ Structure/Site
इमारत/संरचना/स्थल का विवरण
The remarkable mosque is a two-storeyed building. The first or ground storey which forms the floor of the mosque, consisting of several rooms is decorated with blind arched niches set into rectangular panels, now used as storehouse and shops. Originally, these arches would have spanned openings for basement access. The upper floor consists of a large courtyard and a prayer chamber of three compartments, accessible from a flight of 12 steps through the eastern imposing arched gateway. It has three arched entrance. The western Qibla wall of the mosque has three mihrab recesses; each bay is also represented by a niche, composed of stepping planes of ogee arches. Over the central bay, squenches support the transition from the square ground plan via an octagonal drum but the roof is vaulted. There are decorative circular medallions exist on either side of the spandrels. In the premises, there is a broken inscription panel and the remains of the original rubble masonry quibla wall placed on the south side of the Prayer Hall. The thick walls are ornamented with kangura battlement-like adornments on the top edge while tapering turrets existed along the corners of each ends on its west rare wall.
