It lies in area between the flood plain of river and Delhi Ridge. Delhi Ridge is a Northern extension of ancient Aravalli Range.

The massive dargah built in 1317 A.D. by Sultan Qutubuddin Mubarak Shah Khilji during his resign 1316-20 A.D . The compound contains the cenotaph of Hazrat Sheikh Shahabuddin Ashiq Allah and his father Abdul Baba along with other saints. They were some of the earliest Sufi saints who entered Delhi and established the order.

The Dargah is known to regularly organize free food facility. Devotees who are looking to offer their prayers and perform rituals can buy flowers, incense sticks and oil for the lamp from the little shops just outside the compound.

The monumental Dargah is built on a rectangular plan, on a raised platform. The main shrine is a square canopy measuring 3 sq. m. The building of rare architectural style has pyramidal roof supported on four local stone pillars with carved capitals. The enclosure around the central gravestone decorated with a perforated screen made of marble and it is painted in white, green, yellow and blue. There are two cenotaph lies inside the tomb.

The pillars of the tomb are made of local stone and a vaulted roof is of rubble stone coated with plaster. The porch flooring is done with cemented chequered tiles and the main shrine is of stone and marble. Intervention is built with modern building materials like modern brick, concrete, and cement plaster.
