The mosque was built during the reign of the Nizam Afzal-Ud-doula 1857-1869 A.D. , for one of his wives Wahed-Ul-Unnisa begum. It has been built in the Neo qutub shahi style. The Afzal Gunj mosque is said to have been modelled after one of the old Qutub shahi mosque in the Karwan street. |
