The hyderabad ladies association club, was started in 1901 A.D. by Lady Hyderi Begum Khediv and Lady Glancy. Later on Lady Hyderi, secured a site opposite Bashir Bagh palace, and a permanent building was constructed. The foundation was laid in 1929, and the club was opened by Lady Irwin on 17 th dec, 1929 A.D. The building was so constructed that the outer wall was just a screen, to allow the purdah observing ladies all privacy they needed. The club has Asaf Jahi arches and columns. |
