This temple has historical significance since it is regarded as one of the I3 Divya sthanas in ancient Kerala of the Srivaishnava Sect. There is an eleventh century Chola inscription here which has archaeological value. Special features of the unique architectural style of Kerala temples that seem to synchronized with the natural landscape emphasises its architectural importance . Though there are murals here too , they are quite recent . |
